As time goes on, Chris Ward appears to be moving away from the colorful chillwave he began with on Parodia Flare a couple of years ago, and he’s moving closer to smoothlly produced hi-fi pop/electronica music with an R&B influence. I can’t blame him for removing all the fuzz that was once present on Parodia Flare and somewhat on Nautical Clamor – his English-tinged croon is astounding and superb. Home & Consonance, continuing the theme from Popup Cinema, gives off a downtempo/lounge type of vibe – something you’re not supposed to dance to, so much as sit down and take in as background noise to a conversation or some chore you have to do. “Courage” features Ward’s first guest vocalist, whose name is Gavin Turek, and her voice really reminds me of Fabrice Dumont’s (the vocalist of Télépopmusik). Anyhow, all the tracks off this EP are available for streaming via the Bandcamp player below. See what you think of it! Cheers!
