Tan Vampires’ latest effort, Ephemera, is in perfect succession to the recordings they’ve produced prior to this release.

Carrying on from their  2011 full-length, For Physical Fitness (Check it out HERE), we see the band staying true to their beginnings while building even more profoundly yet.

The opening track, Into The West, gives us a more direct, and deeper level of, emotional entanglement. With this song, you can’t help but become immersed in the ever-consistent vocal vigor of Jake Merhmann while feeling the rest of the band coming further up front, alongside subtle horns, to bring this song to an entirely new level from what you may have heard previously. This is Tan Vampires teasing us, yet again, at the overwhelming musical strength that they possess.

With the band sounding even more ethereal than ever before, we’ve got plenty to rejoice about as listeners.

When talking about bands that create anticipation/excitement/elation, I’m quite certain that I must venture out of simply mentioning the state of New Hampshire and must put Tan Vampires out there on a wider scale. When listening to Ephemera,  I gather feelings I can’t entirely convey within the confines of words. We’ve all experienced these moments, but to have it come through powerful recordings isn’t common enough.

It goes without saying, I’m more excited than ever to see what the future holds for Tan Vampires. They’ve got it.
