RIYL: Procol Harum, Kaleidoscope UK, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Gandalf

Label: Ongaku Baka Records

If you happened to be walking down Haight-Ashbury in the summer of 1967, there’s a good chance that you may have heard Pansies’ Cascade of Colors blaring from a VW Bus.  Sure, the album was written in 2017, but it’s existed for at least 4 decades, floating in mushroom tea and dangling in hazy opium dens across the world for longer than most of us have been around.  For the active listeners in search of swirling paisley psych fudge for their eardrums, look no further than Pansies.  Similar to organ-rich pop groups from Nuggets-era psychedelia like Procol Harum, Kaleidoscope UK and The Moody Blues, Pansies incorporate glorious excesses of all of them.

Onga Kubaka Records has just 250 copies of the album to go around, so don’t waste a lot of time.  Check out the entire rekkid below and grab a slab after the ‘buy’ link.
