RIYL: Eskimeaux, Torres, Mitski

Label: Yellow K Records

In June 2013, Michelle Zauner of indie-punk band Little Big League committed to a month-long blog project to write & record a new song each day as a way to overcome writers’ block. From these lo-fi musical diary entries, Japanese Breakfast was born. With a couple of additional EP’s under her belt—including one collection from a similar, week-long endeavor shared with Frankie Cosmos, Eskimeaux, and Small Wonder—Zauner is making her full-length debut with Pyschopomp, out April 6 on Yellow K Records, which is altogether likely to be a meld of singer-songwriter earnest, haunting pop, & shimmery shoegaze.
