RIYL: bedroom pop
Los Angeles singer-songwriter Hana Vu has been crafting her own brand of dreamy bedroom pop since a digital release of demos and covers in 2014.  Now on her seventh endeavor, a 6-track EP titled How Many Times Have You Driven By, Hana continues to charm with her left-of-the-dial delivery, both vocally and stylistically.
Lead-off track Crying on the Subway¬†is¬†sincerely one of the most promising tracks I’ve heard all year, gliding along a seductive bass lick and reverb-soaked Demarco-scented guitar lead.¬† Vu’s vocals cut through the layers like a knife through butter,¬†pushing those dopamine levels into the red.¬† Remarkable tune.¬† Second track Cool’s vibe veers sharply into¬†jazzier, more minimalist territory, but still¬†dives into nu-soul harmonies that¬†her vocal style can¬†pull off so well.¬† Looking forward to hearing the rest!
Limited opaque white vinyl copies are available after the ‘buy’ link.¬† Check out the two available tracks below.
