RIYL: late-60s baroque psychedelia
Label: Mega Dodo
London psych pop 4-piece Green Seagull have a brand new full-length in the works for later this year,¬†and¬†to tide over your aural addictions, they’ve committed two of the new cuts to wax. ¬†If your era of choice in the psych vein rests in the 1960s, bend an ear to these guys. ¬†The vocals on these two tracks conjure up¬†the warm falsettos of Soft Machine-era Robert Wyatt, both soothing and brooding beneath the harmonies. ¬†Fans of early baroque psych and 12-string jangle pop like The Byrds, The Left Banke and The Association will love the damn piss out of this gorgeous¬†slab of beautiful black vinyl.
Listen to both tracks below and grab a copy of the 7″ after the ‘buy’ link from Mega Dodo Records’ Bandcamp page. ¬†Safe travels, journeyman.
The Green Seagull's new single 'Scarlet' pressed on 7-inches of shiny black vinyl and presented in a full colour picture sleeve.
