RIYL: Yung Bae, MACROSS 82-99, Saint Pepsi

Label: self-released

New Jersey-based frisbee funker, producer and DJ Aaron Velasquez has been cranking out poolside pop and ice cold lemonade bangers for the better part of a decade now, but he became a household name among vaporwave and future funk purists a few years later with a trifecta of back-to-back-to-back classics, 2015’s Pleasure Palette and 2016’s Bright Moments and Great Hair. Daymaker, his newest endeavor, comes out this year and will be the first album committed to vinyl since Great Hair and the preorders, as was expected, are flying away fast.

Grab this one on limited pink double vinyl with the quickness. Currently, there are only about 25 copies. They sold out yesterday, but a few more have been added. Take the opportunity NOW. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
Fun fact: “Flamingosis” is the term given to a freestyle frisbee move that was invented in the 70s. The guy who invented is the fella on the left of the Great Hair album cover. And if I do say so myself…that’s a gorgeous head of locks.
