RIYL: dark synth, goth romantic, new wave
Label: Dais Records
Drab Majesty made a stratospheric leap into the musical landscape in 2016 with The Demonstration, a modern dark synth classic bursting with goth romanticism and new wave pop.¬† The solo project of the androgynous Deb DeMure, alter ego of LA-based artist Andrew Clinco, Drab Majesty was immediate and captivating, generating a hardcore cult following in just a few years.¬† This summer, we’ll see the third full length from DeMure titled Modern Mirror.
There are a few variants to choose from, the most limited being a coke-bottle clear colorway limited to only 200 copies.¬† Here’s the rub, though.¬† You’ll have to order it in a t-shirt bundle for a cool $45.¬† Ouch.¬† If you don’t need the rarest version, go for the clear blue (700 copies), the clear red (800 copies) or the clear vinyl (1200 copies).¬† Check out the first single below, but be quick if you want the more limited stuff.¬† OG copies of The Demonstration fetch upwards of $200 on the secondary market and the first pressings of Modern Mirror won’t last long.
