On rare occations I stumble upon bands that play music that has something really special and valuable to me. Bands that makes me feel like I’ve known them for ages, even though I’ve never heard them before! Like they’ve accompanied me through important parts of my life and sorta looked after me, guided me in the right direction. Well, Busman’s Holiday is most definitely one of those…  I’m sorta out of words here, but I’ll try to give a brief description for you.

Busman’s Holiday consists of brothers Lewis and Addison Rogers, and play folked up naked and raw pop-music together. Lewis plays the guitar, and Addison plays his modest drum kit (with a suitcase as his bassdrum..). Their vocal harmonies are truly breathtaking, and has got enough folk-soul to soften even the hardest stone. Lewis also plays in the brilliant Sleeping Bag, and Addison is the drummer in Jens Lekman’s band.     Check the teaser for their upcoming album underneath, and be sure to check out a couple of the live-videos.

This album is out April 1st on limited 500 hand-numbered copies on coke bottle green & bone vinyl with purple and double-blue splatter…. Craaazy!  Joyful Noise really knows hoe to press them Cool….   Also available on standard black and a limited red vinyl.

The Details

We are pleased to announce the signing & debut full-length from Busman's Holiday! Born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, Busman's Holiday is comprised of brothers Lewis Rogers (of Sleeping Bag) and Addison Rogers (of Jens Lekman's band). The duo is adept in a D.I.Y. aesthetic, and armed with an acoustic guitar and a suitcase drum set.

Their debut full-length album, A Long Goodbye, was recorded in the legendary studio-in-a-church owned by Arcade Fire outside Montreal not long before Arcade Fire had to abandon it due to a collapsing roof. It was recorded and produced by Mark Lawson (Arcade Fire, Islands) and mixed by Drew Vandenberg (Animal Collective, Kishi Bashi). Also appearing on the album are Jamie Thompson (The Unicorns, Islands) and Sebastien and Alexander Chow (Islands).

The LP is out on April 1, and features one of the craziest vinyl colors we've ever done: "Coke bottle green" & "bone" A-side/B-side style, w/ "deep purple", "electric blue" and "royal blue" splatter. This vinyl color is limited to 500 hand-numbered copies. Album is also available on red vinyl, black vinyl, CD, and digital.

Price $15
