RIYL: Brighter, The Field Mice, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Jesus and Mary Chain

Label: Jigsaw Records (US) // Kocliko Records (UK)

Philadelphia indie rockers A Certain Smile have been finessing their fuzzy dream pop since 2011, but recently made the trek to Portland for new surroundings and inspirations. In 2017, they released their debut Fits & Starts, 9 tracks glimmering with addicting hooks blanketed in reverb. As the momentum began to kick up, the band locked themselves back in the studio and will be following up with a highly-anticipated sophomore full-length, but in the meantime, they’ve decided to tease the fans with a brand new EP titled Bae. I can hear inspiration from Jesus and Mary Chain, The Field Mice, Nada Surf, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Hatchie and many more.  If you like the dreamy scuzzy stuff, check this one out.

If you reside in the UK, grab the 7″ from Kocliko Records’ Bandcamp page HERE. Otherwise, listen to all 3 tracks below and grab some wax from Jigsaw Records here in the states after the ‘buy’ link. Jigsaw has 4 different colored sleeves you can choose from. Dig in.
