Sometimes, time has a way of sneaking up on you and saying “hey, you’re much older than you’d like to believe”. This release does just that.

Coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the original release of ‘Through Being Cool’ (and a consequent tour with Say Anything), Saves the day has repressed the album for the first time since 2000(!) and is exactly what I remember my High School life felt like. While they are still making music and still together after over 15 years, this album stands out to me. The rough lyrics, the angst, the memories of the past.

Anyone familiar with the album will want to pick this up immediately. This is the record that made these lads some of the most influential artists of the early pop-punk movement. For me, ‘Rocks Tonic Juice Magic’ is exemplary of this brand of beautiful guitar riffs and catchy lyrics juxtapositioned against some pretty violent lyrics (‘let me take this awkward saw, run it against your thighs’) and really hits home.

If the whole blue/white split isn’t your thing, it’s also available in a Limited 1000 Black 180 gram LP version from ShopRadioCast here:
