Label: We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records

Inspired by deep sea exploration, oceanic creatures and underwater kingdoms, French composer and synth experimentalist Dominique Guiot debuted in 1978 with L’Univer De La Mer, an album that has achieved wide cult status over the last 40 years among obscure prog and library synth fans. OG copies, as you could probably guess, are scarce and pricey.  The tones of the mellotron, minimoog and clavinet are buried in time, often only heard in modern music as samples in hip hop tracks, and Guiot uses them in abundance here.  If you enjoy Italian horror soundtracks influenced by everything from American disco to proto synth pop, you’re gonna love this one.

Reissued by WRWTFWW Records (which stands for We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want), grab a copy on limited black vinyl after the ‘buy’ link.  No quantity has been mentioned, but I doubt it’s more than 500.  Listen to the whole underwater adventure below.
