RIYL: Classic indie rock and power pop
As the days grow colder and the skies turn grayer, it’s a perfect time for some Thermals.  From Sub Pop to Kill Rock Stars to Saddle Creek, The Portland-based Thermals have enjoyed a long, successful career, cranking out tried-and-true indie rock since the early aughts.
2013 was a big year for the group as they released Desperate Ground, their first record on Saddle Creek, and got the reissue treatment for their first 3 albums from Sub Pop on delicious colored wax.  If those were insta-buys for you, 2016’s We Disappear will certainly not disappoint.  First single Hey You is a no-frills sweaty stomper complete with impossibly catchy hooks, a hand-clapping beat and plenty of feedback.
