RIYL: Alex G, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Magnetic Fields

Label: Super Fan 99

Another ultra-limited lathe cut vinyl single from UK’s Super Fan 99!

Space Mountain is Boston-based Cole Kinsler, which has been running his DIY-project for a few years already. The upcoming “Big Sky” album marks his first international release, out 26/08 on cassette via Super Fan 99 (EU) & limited CD via Dust Etc (US). The first available single “Never Lonely” is a lush, indie-tune with a flair of 90’s vibes, and features Ava Trilling of Forth Wanderers on guest vocals. Second track “Faded Blue” appeared yesterday, a mellow home-taped spectacular that could easily fit in on any Alex G-album. Solid!

Super Fan 99 is pressing 40 Cassettes of this LP, and if you’re quick you can get it bundled with a Square Lathe Cut Vinyl 7″ of “Never Lonely” (the 7″ is limited to 25 copies, and can only be obtained in this bundle) via the Buy Now-button below.

The Details

The debut international release from Boston based Cole Kinsler AKA Space Mountain. Bundle includes 7" lathe cut of Never Lonely featuring guest vocal from Ava Trilling of Forth Wanderers. This is an edition of just 25. Also included is a turquoise cassette of the album 'Big Sky' which is an edition of 40 with full download.
Listening to Space Mountain feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket after coming in from a freezing winters eve. The 9 tracks which make up 'Big Sky’ bring to mind 90s Merge faves such as Neutral Milk Hotel and The Magnetic Fields or a country inflected Alex G. Initially inspired by the DIY music he discovered during college, Cole has been recording and self releasing an album every year since 2013. Big Sky marks his first full international release and he intends to continue the project in whichever direction his inspirations take him.
PLEASE NOTE - This item is one copy per person.
