RIYL: Horse Jumper of Love
Label: Disposable America, Exploding in Sound Records
Alongside the post of Soft Fangs’ eponymous 7″ comes a full-length recording entitled The Light. This recording is the latest release from the project and one that opens the music much more widely than the 7″ posted previously. Songs span from the intimate isolation we know Soft Fang’s so well for to a shoegazy haze of emotion and back around again. For me, it’s an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia that this record has to offer. It seems that everything Soft Fangs’ releases finds a way to seed itself in an uprooting manner with consideration to past experiences, feelings and emotions that I’d otherwise forgotten about. With that reality in mind, I’m simply in awe as to the memories these recordings evoke.
This is certainly not a record to pass on.
The actual vinyl record has no designated pressing number. Although, there are a handful of copies that come with a “‘Zine” printed on either black and white or color. The color versions are long gone but some black and white copies still remain!
