RIYL: Dark Britpop, Heroin Glam, Post-Punk

Leeds-based 4-piece Post War Glamour Girls have emerged from the fog for their sophomore effort, fresh off 2013’s art punk soiree Pink Fur.  Brooding and delightfully sinister, The Glamour Girls took the baton from The XX, turned up the amps and smeared their lipstick.

For their second-full length, they’ve tossed in elements of UK’s dark glam reminiscent of Pulp’s This is Hardcore and Suede’s Dog Man Star, tossing glittering guitar licks in with impassioned croons and howls.  Think Nick Cave fronting Joy Division.  Both sprawling and contemplative, Feeling Strange is a collection of tracks inspired by the dark alleys and overcast horizons of England.

As of this write-up, there are only 8 copies left of the splatter variant.  For a band with a sound of this magnitude, a pressing of 200 copies will certainly become a coveted artifact for collectors in the coming years.
