When Elias Ronnenfelt says he’s hungry for love, I believe him.  The frontman of Iceage, Copenhagen’s finest post-punk noisemakers, has joined forces with 5 other like-minded peers and created a record supported almost entirely on improvisation.  This ain’t a side project, though.  It’s a fully realized concept, and according to Ronnenfelt, it’s music dedicated to “nocturnal longing, preposterous self-obsession and cock-eyed etiquette.”  Whoa.
On the title track, Elias lurches and writhes into the microphone over a menacing bass line reminiscent of Iggy Pop’s Munich era masterpieces.  Hungry For Love is a vision of a man who will never get what he craves, staggering and stumbling in the dark for anything to soothe his lust…but he pleads to no one.  Powerful stuff.
