This music certainly doesn’t fit a soundtrack to the Rodney King beating or the L.A. Riots or the inspiration to N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton”, but here we are… a mid-20s songwriter named Ryan Pollie, who will no doubt win ‘Best Band Name of 2014,’ is creating music that reminds us all, yet again, that great music isn’t confined to expensive studios.

Sounding like a young Daniel Johnston who bought a slightly more expensive 4-track, LAPD is dreamy lo-fi pop music that’s dead set on piercing those calloused hearts who thought this kind of aesthetic died in the 90s.

Have a listen to the first available track below and then grab this winner for a measly $15.
