RIYL: Arizona Rock

Label: Baby Gas Mask Records

The West Foot Forward split single series thunders back to the fore with the heaviest installment to date from a pair of Tucson’s finest hard rock bands that both happen to begin with a “G”.

Garboski’s “The Dog You Quit Kicking” is an incendiary anthem with a surprisingly introspective/jazzy bridge that recalls the likes of Helmet and Jawbreaker.
Ghostal is an enigmatic Tucson “supergroup” comprised of Chris Pierce (Steff & the Articles, Human Behavior, Lando Chill, and just about everybody else), Steven Romo (Asian Fred, Electric Blankets) and Ray Bear (Boogienauts). After playing they’re first show opening for Sebadoh, the power trio rarely makes live appearances and their side for WFF, a one-two punch of “Human Behavior” and “Uncle Mouse’s Grave”, marks their studio recording debut.

Each split 7″ is pressed on random multi-colored marble vinyl, housed in a hand-screened and painted sleeve, each stamped and hand-numbered, making each record a unique work of colorful art.
