“Hocus Pocus” slams right out of the gate with a rough guitar regime, but it never leads to a grandiose crescendo like a typical post-rock song usually does – this level of noise is as loud as it gets. It just fades away at the end in to the quiet. “Give Over,” the second track, leads in to a calmer (if you can call it that) piece, but you can definitely detect that there’s some sort of anxiety within the atmosphere. Again, though, it never leads to a giant crescendo like you think it would. “Super Good” takes the same beat division but slows down the tempo and sounds a bit messier (sloppier, if you will), like the band drank some codeine syrup in between songs.  Obviously, I could go on and on but I think you get the point. This album is a far cry from their last, Forecast, whose locus point was piano-based/string-based ambient tunes.
