Portland dreamweaving indie rock trio Candace have readied their third full-length titled Ideal Corners, a sublime collection of 10 tracks blossoming with a hazy, atmospheric ether.¬† Taking inspirations from that secret garden where dream pop and shoegaze meet, Candace manage to sound both melancholic and optimistic deep within their lyrics and chord progressions. Even in those minor keys, Sarah Rose and Sarah Nienaber’s reverb-drenched guitars soar to the heavens while drummer Mara Appel joins them in some of the most exhilarating three-part harmonies I’ve heard in a long time. Their 2016 LP New Future was one of the most criminally underrated albums of that year, so I can’t wait to hear what they have in store.
Check out two tracks below and grab a copy of the vinyl from Little Cloud Records after the ‘buy’ link. The white and black splatter are running out pretty quick, so don’t wait around too long. When those sell out, you can still snag a copy of the white vinyl. Check out their discogs page and get some of those other albums before these ladies blow up and you won’t be able to afford them!
