RIYL: Manchester Orchestra, Kevin Devine, Right Away, Great Captain!

Bad Books, the wonderful mix of Andy Hull (Manchester Orchestra) and Kevin Devine, is back again with a new numbered vinyl appropriately titled III (their previous two albums were Bad Books and II). Combining the melodic voices, guitar talent and penchant for thoughtful songwriting, this new album is sure to be another hit of what is already a stellar collaboration. The two songs currently released (“I Love You, I’m Sorry, Please Help Me, Thank You” and “Lake House”) show two sides of what they bring to the table, from an observational walkabout with Kevin Devine helming the vocals to an introspective love piece with Andy Hull manning the microphone. In both, we get to enjoy the layering of voices that really helps drive home certain phrases and chords throughout. If you liked the previous two, this is a must have, and if you heven’t heard of them get on board! They have a bundle available for all three Vinyl.
