A commenter (by the name of “Sal”) made two observations last month or so – we don’t write about much electronic or hip-hop. The former is definitely not true (click my author name to debunk this), but the latter unfortunately is. I don’t come across many hip-hop records, much less that are released on limited vinyl, and neither do my colleagues to my knowledge. However, consider Not The 1s Everybody’s Rappin as a more than welcome addition to our site’s growing archives. Not The 1s are a Bay Area duo with friends in high places. The two revitalize hip-hop’s golden age sound in a jungle filled with trap/drill. This is for the disenchanted with today’s hip-hop scene and a breath of fresh air. Not The 1s Everybody’s Rappin brings aboard some heavy hitters such as Kool Keith and RiFF RAFF, so it goes without saying this will sell out. Get while the gettin’s good, kiddies. Listen to “I Can’t Live With You” (a track that samples Queen) below via the Soundcloud stream and see what you think of it. Cheers!
