Crystal Ball is the 60s throwback soundtrack you didn’t know you wanted needed until now. Sly Vinyl favorite and nostalgia-meister extraordinaire Monster Rally had this beauty repressed on Gold Robot in a lustrous sapphire color. Crystal Ball is like a montage of dreams and memories long buried within your conciousness as it rolls along with its woozy samples of woodwinds, guitar, xylophones, brass instruments accompanied with lively rock & jazz percussion keeping everything in shape. Think vaporwave that goes back even further than the 80s and 90s. Monster Rally is gaining more and more steam year after year and after you take a listen to his stuff, especially Crystal Ball, you’ll see why – no other producer seems to be specializing in this aesthetic, if you will. You could say producers like Samiyam and Madlib dabble in this, but they don’t fully embrace it like Monster Rally. Listen to Crystal Ball below via the Spotify player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
