Prepare for rant:

I'm feeling pretty done with President Gator due to my most recent purchase from them. I pre-ordered a product months ago, knowing it would take awhile to arrive. Months past the estimated ship-date go by, and still nothing, but I sit on it because I pre-ordered and understand delays happen... Queue to less than a week ago, I finally received the package. Now, before I even received this album, which was ordered in March, the product album is notably discounted in their store. What a joke!

I'm normally quite lenient with small labels, like Gator, but I literally have NO reason to pre-order through them ever again. I really hate to be salty about this, but if this is how they treat their early supporters, why should I even consider ordering something ahead of time from them? Or at all?

I really like some of the artists that they promote, but there are plenty of labels out there that actually reward you for putting your money down on a potential product instead of punishing you.

Dear Grums,

My name is Jeremiah, and I am President Gator. There is no company, it's just me. One lone guy trying to help some local artists from Arizona out. I do this as a passion of love for the music & music scene. I don't make any money from this at all.

With that said I assume you are talking about Mega Ran's "Soul Veggies" album? I would like to explain and hopefully clear up some confusion for you and anyone else. I use a company called Pirates Press here in America to order the records, they in turn send them to the Czech Republic to get made. Due to the high temperatures this summer the factory had to shut down for a little while because it was too hot for the workers & vinyl. That delayed the album quite a bit and I am sorry.

Flash forward to Oct and I recently reached out to a larger distribution company, Hello Merch, to help take care of the online orders, packing, shipping, & customer service. To make things better for everyone else, since I am just one guy. To celebrate this and to reward everyone who has ever purchased a record from me, we decided to offer all previous 7"s for $5 & 12" for $10, for one month only.

I am sorry for the frustration and would like to make it up to you somehow. Pre-orders are integral to the record making process for both the artist and the label. Without them we would not have the money to get the records made for everyone. We try & make these small batch records as awesome for the consumer as possibly, doing cool fun colors, free digital downloads, and extra bonus tracks not available anywhere else. I hope that helps clear up some of the confustion & frustation.

Sorry I didn't notice this until recently. I really appreciate the response, and I understand the difficulty that comes with running a small business. I'm quite happy with the effort put in, and the products I've ordered have always turned out great! However, I hope the frustration is understandable, from a consumer point of view. It was really just the combination of things that built up to my frustration, and even then it was more confusion than anything. Still, it wasn't worth mentioning until I saw this particular news-spot at the wrong moment, because it was just a minute irritation. Anyways, thanks for your response and best of luck with President Gator in the future.
