Universal Music’s Respect The Classics imprint continues to re-issue classic, groundbreaking and innovative hip-hop favorites. Special edition versions of hip-hop albums from the Def Jam, Interscope, Priority, and Virgin Records vaults have been reissued, and back in March they released a Vinyl Collector’s Edition of Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak. Now they’re giving hip-hop loving tapeheads the chance the grab some Kanye on cassette with this limited version of Yeezus. This is right about where Kanye haters chime in and rant…I get it, if Kanye isn’t your thing, obviously this isn’t for you…why are you reading this anyway? I personally can’t wait to blast this from my biggest, baddest boombox. Pick one up below while they last –

The Details

Yeezus is the sixth studio album from Kanye West. It was released on June 18, 2013, by Def Jam Recordings. Yeezus has been characterized as West's most abrasive and sonically experimental album, incorporating elements of industrial, acid house, dancehall, electro, and Chicago drill. During the production of the album, West was influenced by minimalist design and architecture, in particular the works of Le Corbusier, and visited the Louvre several times for inspiration. Yeezus has no album artwork, and the physical CD edition of the album was released in a clear jewel box with only a strip of red tape and sample credits. The album continues West's use of unconventional samples, including (and most notably) the vocal refrain from Nina Simone's cover of "Strange Fruit."
