RIYL: clones, rae sremmurd
This is one of my favorite hip hop albums of the last year.
It’s not often that I get to mention Kanye here on slyvinyl, but when it comes down to it I’m an unapologetic Ye fanboy. If you’ve got him featured on your album then I’ll definitely spin it.
Regardless of Ye, this album is a legit banger! And the colored vinyl looks quite snazzy with the album artwork as well.
People always ask me how they can get more Hip Hop on vinyl, well, here you go!
9TH STUDIO ALBUM FROM GUCCI! "All my, all my, all my children / All of these rappers are all my children," raps the East Atlanta Santa on "All My Children," and he's not lying; Guwop's influence on the current rap map is like white onā€¦. well, that WHITE, and he's still the iciest. Everybody Looking dropped about a month after his 3-year stint in jail, and the ATL kingpin, with help from his trusted league of producersā€”Zaytoven, Mike Will Made It, plus a few others, cooked up the album in less than six days. Rushed??? Maybe for the aforementioned "kids," but certainly not for someone with a prolific catalog of 60-plus projects under his designer belt. Laflare is used to churning out projects at unbelievable paces, and this time, thanks to the post-prison sober/slimmer life, he sounds clearer, more focused, and as always, absurd and funny ("They know my glocks sing my hooks and we call it pop music" in "Pop Music", "And I only featured Kanye / Cause we both some fuckin' narcissists" in "Pussy Print"). Some big features on here, with Drake appearing on "Back On Road," Kanye on "Pussy Print," and Young Thug on "Guwop Home," but it's Gucci and his super-hero-level charisma that drives the 14-tracker. Brrrrr!
