The Toronto-based instrumental jazz/hiphop trio BADBADNOTGOOD is a real interesting bunch! After last years versatile and fantastic album “III” they teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah for the album “Sour Soul”, to be released by Lex Records in February (17th in the US, 16th internationally) . The three tracks available this far bear promises of a highly inspired and quality sample-free hiphop-album with a 70’s cinematic feel! They’ve also got Danny Brown, Elzhi, DOOM and Tree¬†(of Project Mayhem) in for some lyrics, the first three guesting on the available tracks.

The Limited Edition comes on Gold Vinyl, and in addition Lex usually delivers a neat physical package!  No words on numbers pressed yet, but Lex is known for some highly sought after variants..

The limited edition vinyl is cut on gold coloured 12" vinyl and includes a digital download.

Sour Soul is the collaborative album from Toronto jazz/hip-hop band BADBADNOTGOOD and Staten Island rap champ Ghostface Killah. Inspired by 1960s and 70s music - taking inspiration from the recording techniques and production of that era, and eschewing sampling in favour of live instrumentation, BBNG with producer Frank Dukes have created a dramatic, cinematic musical staging for Ghostface’s vivid storytelling. Sour Soul also features guest spots from MF DOOM, Elzhi (Slum Village / J Dilla), Danny Brown and prodigal new rapper Tree (Project mayhem).
