RIYL: The Streets, The Mitchell Brothers, Roots Manuva

Label: Yogocop Records

UK hip hop artist Benaddict is gracing the world with his debut rekkid titled The Garden of England, a collection of 11 tracks boasting sweeping and smooth samples reminiscent of the early 2000s Brit rap scene from The Streets to The Mitchell Brothers to Dizzee Rascal.  The lyrics are refreshingly honest and transparent, a bold move in the face of new hip hop subgenres like meme and mumble rap.  I’m a sucker for a cockney accent over a crackly groove, man.  What can I say?

Check out two of the tracks below and grab some beautiful black wax after the ‘buy’ link.  If cassettes are more your style, there’s a batch limited to just 50 that you can get HERE.
