RIYL: Eagles of Death Metal, Them Crooked Vultures, Kyuss

Label: Matador Records

Palm Desert’s most beloved Rock and Roll 5-piece Queens of the Stone Age are back with THE OCHO.  Titled Villains, this marks Josh Homme and the boys’ first record in 4 years since the critically-praised …Like Clockwork hit shelves and simultaneously destroyed eardrums.  Since forming in 1997, Queens of the Stone Age have elbowed their way to the front lines of the hard rock landscape, paving the way for a lexicon of hard-working stoner metal bands all over the globe.  Welcome back, gentlemen.

Merge Records has a deluxe and an indie store variant to choose from after the ‘buy’ link.  Chances are good that your local record stores will have some of the ‘indie exclusive’ versions, but we’re unsure of the quantities.  If you dig that heavyweight wax hitting your turntable, consider shelling out a few more bucks for the deluxe version.  It’ll run you $37.49, but you’ll also get a set of 14 art prints designed by Boneface and an alternate vinyl etching on side 4.
