RIYL: Earthless, Gnob, Sabbath
Label: Drone Rock Records
With merely a guitar, a bass and a set of drums, Sam Paio, Vasco Vasconcelos and Luis Moura carved a trail through scorched earth, deep waters and sweet leaf from their homes in Portugal to the dense fog of London. Their mission was simple…to lasso distant galaxies and extraterrestrial life forms into our atmosphere with the transformative power of the electric strings. Be it 70s prog, acid jazz, 60s psych jams or whatever other far out guitar-centric headspace you’re living in, Madmess delivers the aural spliff through the metamorphic riff, the chord passed from Hendrix to Halen to Vai and onward. If the guitar solo is what you crave, put Madmess on your menu.
Drone Rock Records had two colored vinyl variants for their debut, but the rarest version (150 copies) has already sold out. The good news is that the tastiest colorway, a gorgeous multi-colored splatter slab, is still available. There are only 200 of them and I’m sure they’ll be gone within the week. Check out the full album below and grab the vinyl after the ‘buy’ link.
200 copies on clear vinyl with gold, black and cream splatter effects
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A PRE-ORDER AND THE RECORDS ARE NOT DUE BACK FROM THE PRESSING PLANT UNTIL MID-APRIL.
