Hjortene (The Deers in danish) is a power-trio from Copenhagen who delivers a seriously powered-up package of stoner-grooves on their S/T album!  They throw themselves in with high tension right from the start, blasting through the atmosphere in “180.000 km/t” (feat. Valient Himself ), which is aprx. 289682 mp/h, and doesn’t let go until you’ve been thoroughly kicked in the face for 40 minutes of total Danish Dynamite!

This band quite recently got my attention, and I find this effort way too good not to share. The end track “Canada” (feat. Lorenzo Woodrose) is what got me personally into checking out this band further, a trip of EPIC proportions!

Hjortene released this April via Walden Rekords, and has now pressed up a second batch of 300 copies on heavy Mud Brown Vinyl after the first one (on Black Vinyl) sold out.

“If you’re a fan of riffy stoner rock, ala Fu Manchu, you’ll be all over Hjortene S/T” – METAL INSIDER

“This album is an awesome hard-rocking blast of insane riffs you won’t be able to get enough of” – THE SLUDGELORD

“Forget everything. Forget labels, forget what you think you know about a sound, a genre, a style, a foreign language. Hjortene is a record which needs to be explored and divulged into completely.” – HEAVY PLANET
