So you already have all of The Strokes vinyl releases, but you were still thinking of picking up that “Is This It” split color re-release…but you really don’t need it. Stop immediately and pick this up instead. A nice little 7″ of Strokes-like garage-ness with a dash of the V.U. and a splash of Unknown Mortal Orchestra thrown in, The Sweets have put together a new four-song EP for your listening pleasure, all pressed on beautiful blue glow-in-the-dark wax.
After spending most of 2013 releasing free digital EPs and various cassettes, North Carolina’s THE SWEETS have returned with 4 newly recorded favorites from their fast-growing catalog to press on this 45rpm 7″ single out on Bleeding Gold 24 March 2014. This edition of 250 copies features Glow-Blue-In-The-Dark vinyl with awesomely-pervy artwork by Rafal Karcz.
Zach and Justin are two brothers from Winston-Salem, NC. They formed The Sweets in December of 2012 with their friends Justin Morris and Danner Washburn. The Sweets play garage pop and made it their goal to release an EP a month throughout 2013 while attending college in New York City and Asheville. A compilation of their better self-released songs, titled Greatest Hits, was released in January 2014 by DZ Tapes. After sharing two split cassettes (Just the Dudes & Zing Zang out on Bleeding Gold) with their NC girlfriends Petey, The Sweets are set to release their first 7’’ record on Bleeding Gold Records in March 2014. Yes daddy.
