Saturday Looks Good to Me are back, bringing with them some solid 60’s-girl-group influences and echoes of Phil Specter produced happiness. The first single off the new record, “Invisible Friend”, reflects the breezy vibe of the album cover and has me looking forward to hearing the rest of this one. And if it’s your thing, a limited white cassette (a.k.a. paperweight) is also available.
The new Saturday Looks Good to Me album, One Kiss Ends It All, will be coming out 5/21/13 and is currently available for pre-order. The album will be available on CD, LP (teal vinyl limited to 300), and cassette (white tape limited to 100).
One Kiss Ends It All is the first proper full-length album since 2007's Fill Up The Room, and Fred Thomas and co. are picking back up right where they left off. With more sophisticated arrangements and melodies more direct and engaging than anything the band has ever done, the album feels like re-telling the details of a dream minutes after waking. Something new colliding with something that shouldn't make sense in a beautifully strange collage. And always more details hidden in the corners.
