I found Tim Tygg by accident on bandcamp and fell in love with the beautiful hunting folk immediately. They play their very hushed, beautiful folk with acoustic instruments, piano, accordion, harmonica and remind me of First Aid Kit, Joanna Newsom or CocoRosies debut. Records from Norway costs a lot unfortunately, but you’ll have a really stand out record in your collection. I can’t recommend this high enough.
TIM TYGG is a duo with Johanne Birkeland and Mari Kvien Brunvoll. They started playing together in Bergen during the rainy winter of 2006, making songs on instruments which at the time they had not yet learned to play, some old, some new, and some odd instruments they had aqcuired during travels abroad. They played in the smallest cafés they could find in Bergen, to keep that "living room feeling".
