The adventurous Marx Trukker has another one out on Köln’s NoordenAmong Climetree Harbors is a woozy day trip across a tropical island. The Marx Trukker dances between twinkling IDM and house from what we can hear in the eight minute preview of the record – each track gets its own two minutes in the spotlight. The record’s cover shows what appears to be a scene that wouldn’t be out of place in an airport. The cover’s sterile stone pots housing colorful plants with an overcast, dreary, sky giving the ambiance a certain haze belies the contents of Among Climetree Harbors. From what we can hear, the productions don’t even sound like they’re of this time – they feel like a snapshot of twenty years ago. With the elasticity of the synthesizer waves and the shimmering percussion, The Marx Trukker creates an aural representation of the ocean underneath a harsh sunny day – the opposite of what we see on the cover. Listen to the preview below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. As a side note – if you live in Germany, you could pick up the record in person and meet with Noorden‘s people if you so wish. Cheers!
