RIYL: codeine, whale songs, slo-mo saxophone solos

Label: Geometric Lullaby

Angel Marcloid has many aliases, but legions of vaporboys and girls consider the sedated muzak ambience of MindSpring Memories as their favorite Angel project. The 2015 full-length GATEWAY 2000 is a classic in the vaporwave genre and remarkably never got a vinyl release. That changes today. Sprawling oceans of new age synth textures, saxophones, drum hits coated in reverb and dense layers of experimental “whale cry” ambience work towards a common goal. Chillus Outius Maximus.

Geometric Lullaby, a predominantly cassette-focused label, is throwing the album on two variants. The pink & blue split colorway has sold out already (sorry), but the ocean blue is still ripe for the taking. Both are limited to 150 copies, so if it’s rarity you seek…you haven’t missed out. Check out the entire album below if you have the time and grab a slab after the ‘buy’ link.
