RIYL: The Advisory Circle, Pye Corner Audio, Ghost Box Records

Label: Café Kaput

Jon Brooks’ “Applied Music: Plastics Today” was released digitally in January and is now available in a very limited vinyl edition only available directly from the label. This is the electronic Jon Brooks and reminds me of early electronic and library music typically for the releases on Ghost Box Records. The music varies between almost pop songs and pure early ambient tracks.

The Details

Concise, succinct and targeted material specially produced for the broadcast, refreshment and entertainment industries. Melody, rhythm and metre. Night circuits for the solar future.. Applied Music Vol.2 is the second in an occasional series of library-style albums from Café Kaput. Applied Music albums are organised into thematic selections and feature tracks chosen for their immediacy, simplicity of arrangement and distilled sense of mood.

Vol.2 - Plastics Today provides themes and underscores, in a contemporary idiom, suitable for the polymer industry.

Only available here in the Belbury Music shop.

In association with Belbury Music, Café Kaput present a vinyl version of Jon Brook's album Applied Music: Plastics Today.

The LP is pressed on beautiful translucent orange vinyl and comes with a free download code. Artwork is by Ian Hodgson (Moon Wiring Club).
