Imagine if Suicide got heavily psychedelic and Alan Vega got replaced by Courtney Barnett. Erasers might be something resemblant of that; of course, musical opinion is always subject to interpretation. Erasers might catch wind of this somehow, and they might disagree with me. With only one song available from this upcoming record, that’s about the only thing I can think about when I listen to the lone track “Returning Home.” Erasers make the synths limp and wobble, with the drum machine hits sounding ever distant. The music lounges, and cooks, in that night time Australian desert looking in to the sky for something not everybody gets to see at night – the stars. The cover, with its off white paint mix and its black vase complete with fake plant, gives off this very-90s impression. This is the duo’s full-length debut and debut release for Fire Talk, no less. Listen to “Returning Home” below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
Erasers are a Perth Australia based duo. Weaving hazy psych swirls, churning rhythm and pastel vocals into dense grooving floral compositions. Recalling a variety of our favorite 'slow psych' influencers. Vibes like Pocahanted or early Peaking Lights filtered through the Outback and set adrift. Patience is a virtue and they have it, wrapped up and flowing. After releasing a string of EPs since 2009 "Stem Together" is Erasers first proper full length and first release for Fire Talk.
