Label: Always Human Tapes
As you may have surmised from the title, these Always Human artists get dub treatments – whether that be giving the bass an extreme increase, taking the reverb setting from a puddle to an ocean, or a combination of the two. As the synopsis states, these tracks are ready for listening in the comfort of your own home or they’re ready to be fired up for the more adventurous/risky DJs on their grind. Spaced out, or tightly arranged, you can find it on here. With pleasurlife’s “Tae Bo,” the fourth track on here, the first couple of minutes seem like they signal the beginning of a horror soundtrack (a la Umberto), then it becomes sweaty Detroit techno in the middle, and with the climax it dawns a new age cloak. The succeeding track, “Purple Love,” from Yellow Hyper Balls finishes what “Tae Bo” starts in its new age disguise and drifts off to a wonderland. That sequence can be found repeated on here – going from the gentle to the hardhitting, snapping like sharp turns and dives on a rollercoaster. You feel like you’re going to lose consciousness and then adrenaline jolts you back in to action on the “plateaus.” Listen to the compilation below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
