Dereck Higgins has been involved in music, in the Midwest, since the late 70’s, being a key player in bringing alternative music to Omaha. Of note, he was a part of a band called Digital Sex which was the first Nebraska band to get mention on MTV. It’s worth mentioning that he’s had some pretty notable shows having played alongside REM, not to mention The Dead Kennedys and NOFX during his time in the punk scene.
More recently, he’s fronted his own band as well as being a member of Son Ambulance (Saddle Creek records), InDreama (Team Love records), Cleemann (from Denmark) and Rik Agnew Fiasco (punk legend who started the bands The Adolescents, Christian Death and Social Distortion).
It goes without saying that this man has seen some great times that have undoubtedly influenced his growth as a current influence to so many.

Announcing the release of my next vinyl album "Flyover". This is the vinyl version of music written for or inspired by the independent film "Flyover Country". Similar to my feelings about Sonospheres II, I tell you this is some of my best work yet. The album will come in an edition of 500 copies on 180 gram purple splatter vinyl. The artwork was lovingly done by Tim Guthrie and the inner sleeve will be full color, a first for one of my records. Providing there are no delays the album should be available some time in March.Price is $15 plus shipping. As always I primarily work through PayPal. No checks and I don't take credit cards.
