RIYL: Robots, Gold, Expensive Collectables

Label: The Vinyl Factory

If you have a spare $65 to burn and love all things Daft Punk, today’s your lucky day (insert “Get Lucky” joke here.) Daft Punk, in association with Toilet Paper Magazine, are re-releasing their 1995 single “Da Funk” as a limited gold picture disc to commemorate the magazine’s first million copies. You may be asking “for that price, is it made of real gold?” Unfortunately, no. But if price doesn’t matter and you’re a Daft Punk completist, go ahead and click that Buy Now button below. For the rest of you, feel free to click that Too Expensive button right beneath it instead!

The Details

To celebrate the first million copies TOILETPAPER has created a special golden vinyl of Daft Punk’s 1995 classic track “Da Funk”.The memento was conceived taking inspiration from the classic‘’golden record’’ normally used by the music industry to remark this major achievement. The 12” picture disc, created in collaboration with THE VINYL FACTORY and pressed as a limited edition of only 1000 copies, will become itself a collectors’ item, something epic to instantly crave.

Born in 2010 Toilet Paper is an artists' magazine created and produced by Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari. Since the first issue Toilet Paper has created a world that displays ambiguous narratives and a troubling imagination. Combining commercial photography with twisted narrative and surrealistic imagery. The result is a publication that is itself a work of art which, through its accessible form as a magazine, and through its wide distribution, challenges the limits of the contemporary art economy.
