Before you get any further, I’d like to make clear that this Copeland is not the alt-rock Copeland, but Inga Copeland from Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland, or Hype Williams. Inga Copeland, from what I’ve read, probably isn’t even her real name so there’s that air of mystery. What you’ll find on these two tracks is the lo-fi vocals and crude electronics you’re probably already familiar with if you’ve listened to any of her work before. John T. Gast co-produced Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland’s Black is Beautiful which came out last year on Hyperdub. I’m not sure if this collaboration is just a one-off deal or if these two are planning to produce more material for the future. These two singles have quite a primitive ethos, and they’re quite short if the previews are the full streams of the songs. As far as I know, there’s no stream available for either of these songs outside of the Rush Hour site so head there after the Buy Now button and see what you think of them. Cheers!
