This single is now on its THIRD repressing. Wes Eisold keeps to the same theme of his monochrome Heartworm¬†label with the sleeve being black and the vinyl being white – you gotta admire him for sticking to this color scheme. I can’t help but feel with the plethora of singles he’s being releasing since late last year and this year, you’re supposed to connect the dots and make an album out of it. There’s also the possibility that Wes has had these songs lying around and they couldn’t be thrown on anything else so here they are, presented to us as strong singles.¬†Oceans With No End,¬†God Made The World,¬†Black Boots, and¬†A Little Death to Laugh¬†seem like they’re supposed to be transitioning his listeners in to something even bigger. As far as the tracks go,¬†A Little Death to Laugh¬†has Eisold sticking to form, doing what he does best – creating dark and existential synthpop. On the contrary, the closing track “Tristan Corbi√®re” is a little… giddy. Stream the single below via Spotify and see what you think of it. I’ve also linked the eerie music video that goes with “A Little Death to Laugh” below. Cheers!
