I hope everybody here in the states has had a nice Labor Day weekend. I’m sure a lot of us needed that third day added in to the weekend. I know I’m supposed to be reveling in the rest time, but hey, I’ve got nothing better to do at the moment and I just got this in my inbox so I figured I’d throw it up here real quick. Cavatica Sessions is a joint project between Tim Gray (aka Ethernet) and Elias Foley. They have two tracks available for preview, and while there are dub techno elements evident… I wonder if the rest are much more straightforward in the dub techno aspect. Both tracks aren’t lacking in one thing for sure, though – color. Just like the paint splattered album cover, Cavatica Sessions is thriving in color. “The Web” sounds like an homage to Boards of Canada and “Orbweaver” is like a slow-moving arachnid, crafting its web with a natural collage in the backdrop. Listen to both tracks below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of them. Cheers!
