RIYL: TOBACCO, Casino Versus Japan, all things Rad Cult
Label: Rad Cult
In the wake of the recent TOBACCO preorder, Rad Cult has given us a little Sunday surprise this evening and thrown up a split 7″ of Black Moth Super Rainbow and Freescha. I can’t think of a better combination for a split, as BMSR’s electronic oddities with the infamous “witness protection” vocals are a perfect marriage with Freescha’s haunted, warpy synth atmospheres. Both have pioneered exciting new paths for electronic music during eras when most of the genre seemed quite homogenous and predictable.
Limited Rad Cult vinyl, specifically with TOBACCO and BMSR, sells out quick. An edition of 750 will not last more than a day, I assure you. Listen to both of the tracks below and snatch the vinyl while ya can. And if you happen to dig what you’re hearing from Freescha, check out one of their other projects called Night Sequels. Gorgeous synth tracks that sound like a mix of Vangelis and John Carpenter scores, and you can still pick up their super delicious and limited vinyl from 2015 HERE.
Includes digital pre-order of What in the Rad/Bad Fuckin Times. You get 2 tracks now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it's released.
