I feel bad for those publications and people who are already making their end of the year lists. The year’s not over yet – wait until it’s January 1st. There is so much music released in a year, there’s no way anyone’s been exposed to all their options. The only hope is that someone looks as much as possible to analyze what there is already out there. Adam Oko’s Diet of Germs is an example of why already ironing in a year-end list already is an awful idea. It’s one of many releases dropping this month, waiting for your precious ears to traipse upon. I don’t offer up his EP as a sacrifice to make a point, but I’d like it to serve as a reminder to keep your eyes peeled and mind open if you’re the list-making type (and frankly, any type of listener). This dropped in my inbox thanks to one Aidan Hanratty whom I’ve made mention of before and let me say… this is quite the pleasant surprise. Imagine a smashing together of KILN with an Orange Milk artist. Listen to Diet of Germs below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
