Germany seems to have all the cool electronic music these days.¬†Dimbi Deep, a Munich based label, gives unto us a split release with Lars Leonhard and Shebuzzz that, graphically and aurally, reminds us of a serene sunrise. The color also reminds me of a glass of ice cold lemonade – the fare of any good spring and summer. As for the content on this fine piece of wax, Lars Leonhard’s tracks are dub techno while Shebuzzz’s have dub techno elements, but I’d be more inclined to call them deep house than anything else (which is not a bad thing). Shebuzzz’s “Grasses of the Past” sounds like Boards of Canada trying their hand at deep house with the shimmering synth chords chiming in to that crisp morning air. If you’ve been reading my other articles about dub techno pieces, or if you’re already familiar with the genre, you know what to expect. If this happens to be your first time around with dub techno, head to that Bandcamp player below and see what you think of it. Cheers!
