Minimal Wave really needs to release more of In Aeternam Vale’s work because I’m starting to run out of things to write about from them. In Aeternam Vale’s “Dust Under Brightness,” to me,Ā channels an ethos akin to Pink Floyd – like something you’d find in The Wall. It’s looming, it takes its time to imprint itself in your conscience, the vocals are dark and it’s in a sense, progressive. Maybe I’m alone in thinking that. “Highway Dark Veins” on the B-side takes its time to build but it’s quite worth the wait. Unlike the A-side, this is techno. Like the track would lead you to believe, it lays out its dark veins like a highway. The stark drum machines cycle in and out of focus and the minimal synth notes try to stay afloat the cavernous clubĀ and its denizens. Check out both tracks below via the YouTube streams and see what you think of them. Cheers!
