RIYL: Junior Murvin, Desmond Dekker, Lee 'Scratch' Perry
Label: Daptone Records
A few years ago, Daptone Records introduced us to The Frightnrs, a dancehall reggae 4-piece from New York armed with mean grooves and razor sharp harmonies.  The response to their 2016 debut full length was immediately positive, but in the middle of all of the growing hype, we learned that Dan Klein, lead singer of the group, died tragically from ALS complications.  Thankfully, his legacy remains in the music.  Daptone has responded to our collective love for this band and delivered the entire album with dub remixes.  I can’t wait to hear this thing!
Get your purple wax quickly after the ‘buy’ link as Daptone’s limited product tends to vanish as quickly as they’re announced.  There’s also three super limited 7″s of Purple, Lookin’ For My Love and Gotta Find A Way, each limited to just 300 copies.  Those won’t last long.
Shortly after its release a single for "Dispute" was pressed, and like many classic reggae singles, it included a Dub (version) on the B-side courtesy of famed reggae producer Victor "Ticklah" Axelrod. The single was a smash success which in return inspired Axelrod to produce Dub versions for all the songs on Nothing More To Say. The result is More To Say Versions.
LP sports a psychedelic 3-D cover with custom Frightnrs 3-D glasses included.
